(As reported by Mr. Subhrajit Bhattacherjee)
Manas da called in the morning and took note of everything. You were always in touch. So was Babul and others, with me, on behalf of the Ashram. The mini-bus that accompanied them arrived at the Ashram by 9.45am.They started by 10 in the morning and returned by 5 in the evening. All together, they visited almost 22 Puja Pandals. Their celebration started when all came out of the bus shouting,"AAMI AAGE NAMUM...PUJA DEHUM....”
Starting with Amtali Bajar, Bank Chowmuhani, Milan Chakra, Mouchak, Aapanjan, Egiye Cholo Sangha the team then went to visit Netaji Play Center, Ram Thakur Sangha, Sanitaria, Chittaranjan Club. In between we had GREAT moments with Balloons, Frooti in the kids' hand. Some even posed with many Club-Members for photos. From Santipara the team moved to JPC, Dashamighat, Santikami Sangha, Lal Bahadur, and Pole Star. The HOLY DURGA BARI was the last destination. And it was with this idea, may Devi Durga BLESS all of them for a BRIGHT future.
The real 'game' started in the Ajanta Hotel. White cleaned dish, good quality rice, vegetable, dal, tasty rui fish and few even tasted chicken. The children enjoyed the meal with full pleasure. As the city geared for No-Entry, the kids left the city by 4.30 pm. A child said while leaving..."Subhrajit Uncle, porer bar aanba ni emon koira...?”
Most of them heard the line and started repeating the same line... a tough DEAL to remember.

Dr. Srivastava & Mrs. Srivastava were so kind hearted that they have prepared all food items by themselves for long hours - Chole, Paneer, Aloo Sabji, Halwa, more than 200 puris for all the 24 children and other inmates. They had only helper while cooking and both Mr. & Mrs. Srivastava worked many hours in kitchen to serve the kids on Dussera day. They themselves distributed food and fed the little kids.
Children were very happy and it was a very memorable day.
